Speaking of the New Year
Much to my excitement, there is such a thing as WoYoPracMo!
And, you might ask, “What IS WoYoPracMo?”
WoYoPracMo is World Yoga Practice Month. The home page says, “All you have to do is practice yoga every day for the month of January, 2008. From Ashtanga to Iyengar, newbies to longtime practitioners, everyone is welcome to join in the fun.
Because there are so many styles of yoga, and every yogi is different, there is no one “right” definition of a practice. You can do your daily 90 minute ashtanga practice, or a short restorative practice. The working definition of what counts as a practice is “At least 10 minutes in any pose or series of poses, with awareness and breathing, qualifies as a practice.””
So, ten minutes a day. What do you think? Will you join in? What a great way to start the New Year!

This sounds so neat…I think I need to begin my beginning yoga practice by attending class a couple times a week and practicing poses in between.

I’m still trying to figure out how to say that! Great idea, though. I like it, as a newbie. A great place to begin…

hmmm… one of my New Year’s resolutions is to find a regular babysitter again so that I can start going to my yoga class again. I might have to try doing a pose a day in January. Maybe I’ll try to do it with the kids.

Crunchy Mama, as they say over at Nike, “Just Do It”… 10 minutes is nothing. Heck, I can give you 10 minutes worth of poses to do in bed in the morning!
