Dedication of a Practice…
Last week, Yoga Chickie posted a great idea for a “Pay It Forward” practice: to shower a “tagged” Yogi/Yogini with love through the dedication of a practice on a designated day. Well, I was excited to sign up to dedicate my practice, but it ended up being ME who was chosen to receive the benefits of the dedication.
Today, Sunday, was the day that others dedicated their Yoga practice to me. I am here to report, I had a lovely day and was filled with gratitude and felt connected to my community here and at large. I am deeply honored to have been the recipient of this dedication.
That being said, I would like to pass it on. If you would like to have a practice dedicated to you and are willing to dedicate a practice to a fellow Yogi, post a comment. I will choose someone to be the recipient tomorrow and practice will be dedicated to you on Tuesday….

This sounds great. It is the first I have heard about it. I will be happy to participate.
I linked to your blog and thanked you on my latest post about Radiant Heart Yoga.

Just had another thought….I have been trying to figure out how to work the Radiant Heart Yoga into my regular daily practice. Now I can do it on the day that is chosen to dedicate a practice to a fellow yogi. With the heart chakra open and along with the Loving Kindness Meditation, I should be able to send good vibes.

I haven’t practiced yet but will be sending you the vibes! I guess that transatlantic time difference might spread the good vibes over time!

And yet I wonder… While sending good wishes to someone is a sweet idea and one which I support, I wonder how much of the perceived effect — feeling connected, filled with gratitude, etc– is just our own sense of being cared about, and so we are suffused with well-being. I mean, what if we could feel this sense of being loved and cared about every day, simply by allowing ourselves to do so? I wonder whether it is possible.

Deb, I absolutely think it’s possible. That being said, I think the benefits of practicing on someone else’s behalf are probobly MORE beneficient for the person practicing…
