Mother’s Day Gratitude Special
Over the last few months, Erick, Clara, and I have started sharing our daily gratitude before dinner. I really love this practice! It’s a nice way to start our family meal, and brings our energies into the moment, away from the distractions and busy-ness of life. I’ve found that often, Clara wants to continue telling me all the things she “loves most today” as I’m tucking her in at night.
In honor of this special weekend, I would like to pose a special gratitude challenge for Mommies everywhere (well, at least those who read my blog!). As a Mama, what are you grateful for? Take some time to reflect on the blessings that would not exist for you without your kids. And please, I invite you to share the gratitude with your families!
If you are not a Mama (or are a gentleman), take some time to reflect on the ways that the Mothers in your life have impacted you and tell them! Don’t just buy a card and some flowers, take some time to share your heart…
The Everyday Yogini’s Top 10 Mommy Gratitude List
I am grateful for Clara’s energy, enthusiasm, and loving spirit.
I am so very grateful for all the moments and experiences we share together as a family.
I bow down in gratitude to all the other Mommies who have shared their wisdom and kinship with me- and continue to do so.
I am grateful for the opportunity to see the world through Clara’s eyes- talk about magic!
I am grateful for Erick, who makes it possible for me to stay home with Clara, and is 100% supportive.
I am also grateful that Erick and I play on the same parenting team. I know too many married couples at odds…
I am grateful that I get to be part of the blossoming of Clara’s intellect and imagination.
I am grateful that I am raising a child in a time when there are so many choices available.
I am grateful that I have been entrusted to raise this amazing little girl- and that I (most of the time)- remember the sacred nature of that appointment…
Most of all, I am grateful for the inspiration Clara provides for me to continue striving to be the best person I can.
If you feel inspired to share your Mother’s Day Gratitude, blog it, and post your link here. And then, don’t forget to share it with your family- especially your kids and your own Mother!
Being a proud Mama as well as a grateful Mama, I thought I would share this funny little anecdote from this morning. Erick left early for work today and Clara and I slept in a bit. Here is what Clara said during a phone conversation with Erick this morning:
7:30 am, phone rings
Clara runs to answer the phone: “Helloooo?……. Daddy? Are you still asleep? No? Well, okay………. Would you like to get on Mommy’s ear? Here she is…”

Wonderful idea. Life with my children, has expanded my whole heart and being over the years. If it weren’t for them, I would not know the importance of being brutally honest, to stand as tall as I can, to soften my heart, or the joy of letting them grow into the independent intelligent and kind people they are.

Just wanted to wish you a happy mother’s day. It is already past where you are but it’s the thought that counts isn’t it? Also, lovely post and what a great practice. As soon as we can make sense of what my kid says (meaning understand his words) I’ll institute here too.

Happy Mother’s Day, Nona! I am glad to hear that you are feeling more settled now (your patterns post was great).
And this is a wonderful idea! I am sorry I didn’t get a chance to participate, but I really liked reading everyone’s comments and posts.
Also — I wanted to invite you to join in the weekly Attitude of Gratitude on my blog if you feel inspired by it! I have been hosting it every Wednesday and am going to try it a couple more weeks. It would be lovely to hear from you.
Blessings,
Stacy
